Privacy Policy
OLD's Storytime is an app of classic stories, reading games and sleep sounds for children ages 2 to 9. It is made by groundstate llc ("we"). We built it to collect nothing about the children who use it, or about their families.
The short version
- We do not collect any personal information. No names, emails, photos, voices, locations or device identifiers.
- There are no accounts, no child profiles, no ads and no tracking or analytics tools.
- Everything a child does in the app stays on the device.
- The app never uses the microphone or camera.
- We do not sell or share information, because we do not have any.
What stays on the device
To work, the app saves a few things on the iPhone or iPad itself: settings (such as Daytime or Bedtime and the sleep timer), favorite stories, reading progress (minutes read, stories finished, words learned and badges), lessons a grown-up saves, and stories and characters a child makes. This information never leaves the device and we cannot see it. A grown-up can erase reading progress in the Grown-ups area, and deleting the app erases everything.
Stories we send to the app
When the app is online, it downloads the list of stories, story videos and pictures from our content server, which runs on Cloudflare. Like any internet request, this shares the device's internet address with the server so the files can be delivered. We do not use it to identify anyone or build profiles. Cloudflare may keep standard technical logs for a short time for security and reliability. You can read Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Read-aloud words
When the app reads a word or sentence out loud, it uses the speech voice built into the device. The words are spoken on the device and are not sent to us.
Children's privacy
The app is made for children and follows the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Apple's rules for the Kids Category. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Settings, purchases and any links that leave the app sit behind a parental gate that young children cannot pass.
Keeping and deleting information
We keep no personal information, so there is nothing for us to store or delete. Information saved on the device stays there until a grown-up resets it or deletes the app.
Security
Story files travel over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Because we hold no personal information, there is none on our servers to protect or lose.

This website uses no cookies, ads or analytics.
Changes
If we ever change how the app handles information, we will update this page and the date above first. If a future feature needed personal information, such as an optional parent account, we would ask a parent for consent before collecting anything.
